Details

The all new 1909 reproduction sixty-four comb leather presentation helmet has been available since 1999!

When Cairns came to us and said they might like to re-introduce this 1909 classic, we ordered them immediately.

The original sixty-four comb tooling was utilized for what will surely be a collector's treasure. The G64 is constructed the way only Cairns knows how...with the best leather hand-craftsmanship in the business.

G64s are a must for serious and novice collectors alike. For appreciation gifts, retirements, or awards, nothing can say thanks like a G64!

Note: This helmet is NOT recommended for firefighting.

6" Leather Fronts are sold separately.

    Oh well

Unfortunately the long wait to get one of these due to supply and a point in my career, was hugely dissapointing. The craftsmanship or care is below any standard. The dome was cut very tall and shaped goofy. The 4 main ribs were also very tall and not cut down to a decent size and also very akward to wear and just plain ugly like a squid head. MSA has basically abandoned the quality and traditional look of past. So it was a $100 loss at the end of day for shipping to me and return. If that's worth your time and money, go ahead and try. But for $1,000, It's unexcusable to the job and the customer of all the stories of junk they make and I see why. They'll kill the leather tradition at some point due to 'business decisions.'

We gave a Natural ""64"" to one of our own FF the decided to hang up his hat after 47 years of service and he racked up over 23,000 fire calls in his career. It was a beautiful helmet, to bad they don't make it for real structural FF...
