Details

The Hemisphere is a versatile, lightweight, and easy to deploy transportable monitor that gives the user the ability to quickly establish water flow in locations that ground monitors cannot.

Since the Hemisphere doesn’t rely on gravity for stability, it can be pointed horizontal and down, in addition to up, unlike portable ground monitors. The rotating, pivoting waterway, allows the stream to be directed in virtually any direction, within a hemispherical range, without interrupting water flow.

A variety of mounts, including an I-beam clamp that doubles as a 2” receiver hitch mount, a dedicated hitch mount, and fixed mounts, provide the user the ability to quickly attach the monitor, and establish coverage on the fire ground, or in preplanned locations. An integrated, quarter turn, hardcoat anodized aluminum half ball valve, with locking bail handle, provides shutoff capability. The main and valve bodies are hardcoat anodized aluminum inside and out, with a blue TFT powder coat finish, on the outside.

Flow range up to 500 gpm (2000 l/min). The monitor features a swiveling 90 degree, valved inlet, and a rotating, swiveling outlet that is manually adjustable via a double ball swivel, angled 40 degrees from the main waterway, capable of sweeping 80 degrees, that can be rotated about the main waterway a full 360 degrees by a hand crank.

Outlet has a built-in stream straightener. The quarter turn ball valve has a bail type handle, which locks in the closed position, to prevent accidental discharge. Attachment to the various mounting options is as easy as sliding the socket at the base of the monitor onto the quick attach mounting base. A rotation release lever, that is separate from the release pin, allows the monitor to be rotated about its base, without the need to release monitor from its base.

Water pressurized pins prevent the monitor from rotating or releasing while flowing, and a separate mechanism in the release pull pin prevents the monitor from releasing, when the weight of the monitor is unsupported. A built-in carrying handle and lightweight aluminum construction make transport and deployment quick and easy.

Specifications:
  • Standard inlet is 2.5" NH (65mm) rocker lug coupling
  • Standard outlet is 2.5" NH (65mm) rigid male threads
  • Flow range: up to 500 GPM (2000 LPM)
  • Maximum pressure at nozzle while fl owing: 175 PSI (12 BAR)
  • Mounting Positions: 8 positions, every 45 degrees (shutdown to reposition)
  • Double Ball Pivot Sweep: 80 degrees (while fl owing)
  • Main Waterway Rotation: 360 degrees (while fl owing)
  • Hose Approach: 90 degree inlet valve rotates 360 degrees
  • Size: 25.5”L x 8.1”W x 10”H (650mm x 210mm x 260mm) (without nozzle, I-beam clamp, or mounts)
  • Weight: 22 lbs (10 kg) (without nozzle, I-beam clamp, or mounts)
All kits include:
  • HPM111A Hemisphere Monitor
  • MD12A MAX-FORCE DUAL PRESSURE AUTOMATIC TIP 2.5" NH (65mm) with a flow capacity of 100-500 gpm (400-2000 l/min). The nozzle may be switched between standard 100 psi (7bar) and a low pressure mode 55 psi (4bar) by twisting a knob on the front of the nozzle. The pattern adjusts from straight stream to a 120 degree wide fog. Further rotation opens the tip to flush 3/8" (10mm) debris without shutting down. Hardcoat anodized aluminum with rubber bumper. Standard inlet is 2.5"NH (65mm) rocker lug swivel.
  • HPM-E Cross-Pin Mount: This hardcoat anodized aluminum mount is the same mount that comes with the HPM-A, HPM-F, HPM-G, and HPM-H clamps. The cross-pin is detented to prevent the pin from detaching and getting lost or dropped. This mount also attaches to HPM-D mounting blocks.
Kit A includes:
  • HPM-A, I Beam Clamp/2" Hitch Mount
    • This hardcoat anodized aluminum and stainless steel clamp can be quickly attached to an I-beam and other objects, such as stair rails, by one person, without the use of tools. The mount and clamp jaws can be moved to any of the 42 positions on the backbone, for maximum versatility. Detented pins hold the mount and jaws in place and a travel stop keeps the pins attached, to prevent them from being dropped or lost. Once the clamp is secured, the Hemisphere monitor is attached to the clamp by sliding the socket at the base of the monitor over the mount. The jaws can be removed and the backbone can be inserted into any standard 2" hitch; giving the ability to quickly add a monitor to most vehicles, without costly modifications.
Kit F includes:
  • HPM-F, Tank Lip Clamp/2" Hitch Mount
    • This hardcoat anodized aluminum and stainless steel clamp can be quickly attached to a tank lip by one person, without the use of tools. The mount and clamp jaws can be moved to any of the 42 positions on the backbone, for maximum versatility. Detented pins hold the mount and jaws in place and a travel stop keeps the pins attached, to prevent them from being dropped or lost. Once the clamp is attached, the Hemisphere monitor is secured to the clamp by sliding the socket at the base of the monitor over the mount. The clamp arm and fixed end can be removed and the backbone can be inserted into any standard 2" hitch; giving the ability to quickly add a monitor to most vehicles, without costly modifications.
Kit G includes:
  • HPM-G, Scaffolding Clamp/2" Hitch Mount
    • This hardcoat anodized aluminum and stainless steel clamp can be quickly attached to a industrial scaffolding by one person, without the use of tools. The jaws can be removed and the backbone can be inserted into any standard 2" hitch; giving the ability to quickly add a monitor to most vehicles, without costly modifications.
Kit H includes:
  • HPM-H Flex Clamp/Hitch Mount
    • This hardcoat anodized aluminum and stainless steel and galvanized clamp can be quickly attached to round , as well as various other odd shaped objects by one person, without the use of tools. The chain blocks can be removed and the backbone can be inserted into any standard 2" hitch; giving the ability to quickly add a monitor to most vehicles, without costly modifications.
